June 11

Today was pretty much a driving day. We needed to head back toward Anchorage to connect with Sandy, Greg's wife.  We stopped for gas at Nenana which created a new experience for me.  Prior to today, I never spent more than $100 to fill a gas tank. To fill about 3/4ths of the RV tank cost $110.

We stopped at the farmers market in Nenana and had a great time talking to the folks there and hearing their stories about the area.  We met Nenana's very own "Grizzly Adams".  More to follow on that later on the website.

To break up the drive, we stopped a couple times to go "gem hunting".  At one stop we were told by the locals there that we missed a bear sighting by about 5 minutes.  At that same stop, we took some time out from gem hunting to leave "our mark".
