June 10

First stop this morning was Santa Claus House in North Pole, AK.  Santa was not there so I got to sit in his chair.

We left there and headed for Chena Hot Springs.  We toured the Aurora Ice Museum.  Everything inside (tables, bar stools, bed, igloo, sculptures, etc) was made of ice and kept at a temperature of 25 degrees.  There was even an xylophone made of ice that actually played.  They gave us big parkas that we could use during the tour to keep warm.

We toured their geothermal power plant, green houses and grounds.  We saw 7 reindeer  (in pens), goats and chickens and spent about an hour swimming in their hot spring pool.

We drove back to Fairbanks.  We stopped for a couple pictures of the Pipeline, had dinner at the Silver Gulch Brewing Company and are now camped at the Rivers Edge RV Park in Fairbanks.
